Nice location. Nice staff - they don't speak Norwegian probably (neighther we) but we could easily communicate in English. Breakfast was good.
When we arrived, our reservation was not found in the hotel's computer. They did have a room for us, however. In fact only 4 out of 25 rooms were in use that night (including our room). The lift indeed reaches only the 3rd floor (our room and generally family rooms are on the 4th floor). No fjord view from these family rooms. Parking is available near the hotel's entrance, but officially not free of charge (though the staff say that "no body checks there" - which was correct for our stay). Free hotel parking we were told was available farther from the entrance. There were no chairs in our room but one of the staff was very helpful and brought chairs to our room upon request.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone travelling on weekends, unless you are 100% sure you get a room facing the backyard!!! The outdoor restaurant/bar announced on the hotel web-page is also the local disco... The disco music starts at 23 and is turned down at 24, but the pub is open until 02 am - shouting and "lots of fun" if you are there to party... The hotel is so beautifully situated and is a really quaint hotel, but the concept with the local disco is really not what you are expecting... But if you are lucky to get a room facing the backyard you are OK ;o)

Nothing! Or actually the location by the water was very nice.
Rooms where not properly cleaned, an unplesant smell in the room and actually the whole hotel, extremely poor standard. You should visit, I promise you it will be your first and definately last time! Hope you last for one whole night... Ps. Bring an extra alarm clock for the chef. I didn't catch any breakfast as the chef didn't bother to show up in the morning.

Our room had a balcony with lovely view over Tvedestrand bay... Tvedestrand is a very small town, but the hotel was still located in what I would call the citycentre. The bathroom was modern. The beds were soft.
It was quite expencive for being so little hotel.

Nice location in the middle of town and by the seaside. Big clean rooms.
The tv set in the room didn't work.

We liked it's location with a view of the bay. Also, we were interested in the large number of used book handlers. We will return again for those benefits.
Access to the internet was sporadic. We use the internet for everything, especially when we are traveling.
